Thank You To Our Volunteers
Much of the hard work leading to the good science behind CC TeleHealth’s treatment practices is driven by caring, compassionate volunteer professionals (doctors, pharmacists, nurses, scientists etc.) who have dedicated their time to networking and discovering best practices for treating many of the novel health challenges being experienced by our members. Significant research effort comes from teams of experts across many health disciplines who contribute their time and expertise to inform our treatment protocols. They follow research and the results of practitioners nationally and around the world. We are very grateful for their support of our work. A special thank you to the
Canadian Covid Care Alliance and the
Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance for their groundbreaking research that they make widely available.
The Treatment Science Behind CC TeleHealth’s Approach
CC TeleHealth focuses on treating COVID-related health challenges for which:
- symptoms are very complex, and solutions are difficult to identify (often unique to different individuals)
- large scale global research has not yet identified a proven solution
- there is no consensus amongst experts over what really works
In such situations, many health care professionals can become paralyzed because their sole focus is on treating with practices that are already standardized and proven. As such, members can have difficulty or are unable to receive treatment from their family physician or from within the existing health care system. CC TeleHealth’s focus is on treating health challenges currently outside the scope of provincial health care plans where knowledge is limited, and discovery is required to find solutions for members. A better approach is needed when challenges are very complex, and where solutions work for some, yet may have little benefit for others.
Our Philosophy
CC TeleHealth offers you an approach to treatment that is rooted in a diligent search for solutions that work. With CC TeleHealth, you will have a relationship with a community of certified medical professionals who work as a team to find better solutions.
We are committed to:
- Compassionate, courageous care;
- Research based treatments, following cutting edge, large scale global treatments;
- Collaborative, multi-disciplinary discussions over what really works;
- Working as a team to find solutions to help our members.
Even when effective solutions are not globally established, emerging solutions are being discovered throughout the world. CC TeleHealth actively networks with communities of researchers and treating health care professionals to learn from each other and develop solutions for critical emerging health issues. Health care professionals who are actively treating an emerging health issue become a high-quality source of knowledge for effective treatment options.
Areas of Focus
NOTE: CC TeleHealth is NOT a primary healthcare provider; its services are intended to be complementary to, and not replace, those provided by your general practitioner. Further, CC TeleHealth only provides services that are not covered by provincial health care plans and charges a fee for its services. Therefore, members should always first contact their primary health care provider for all “government-insured” health care services.
The following treatment challenges are currently addressed by CC TeleHealth:
- COVID-19 Prevention
- COVID-19 Treatment
- Long COVID Treatment
- Emerging injuries post vaccination
- Mental Health & Well-being
As we are focused on addressing conditions that are difficult to treat, CC TeleHealth utilizes a treatment approach where a variety of trial treatments may be provided to discover which treatment is best suited to an individual’s needs. Solutions will be based on observations of how a member responds to the various treatments that have a track record of working elsewhere.
As we engage in this journey together, the CC TeleHealth team will set clear expectations about the risks and benefits associated with its treatment services so that you can make an informed decision.
As healing is supported by good mental health, we offer
Mental Health Services, specializing in supporting those who have been impacted by the pandemic.
Respecting Your Rights
Members have a legal right to informed consent for all medical treatments provided in Canada.
Our goal is to provide superior medical services, in which you fully participate in your health decisions, and have a clear understanding of the risks and benefits of the different approaches to treatment. That way, together, we can make wise decisions on what is the best treatment approach for you, while fully respecting your right to informed consent.
We believe that you should be in control of your own medical care, and that is only possible when you understand the various treatment options (some proven and others still being researched). As you understand the options offered to you, only then can you proceed to give informed consent.
In today’s world, Medical Health Professionals often provide care without properly informing their members of the risks associated with the care they are receiving. When this happens, the member loses control over personal health decisions and choices. We at CC TeleHealth believe this is wrong and are committed to providing you with all the information needed to have truly informed consent.
Designed for Addressing Complex Health Challenges
We are currently seeing some of the most complex health challenges in medical history; likely related to the spike protein found in COVID-19 and produced by the vaccines. CC TeleHealth’s approach to treatment science is ideal for addressing complex, emerging, health challenges like this in that knowledge is harvested globally through real-time relationships with leading medical pioneers.
The variety of health challenges experienced by our members illustrates the enormous mystery being experienced by individuals who have had to cope with damage done to their bodies through this global health crisis. We understand that these challenges are real, not imaginary, and we are committed to a diligent search for solutions that work for our members. Unfortunately, the challenge is very complex with no “one-size-fits all” solutions; currently treatments that work for some may have little benefit for others.
An Example of Science Needed to Address a Complex Health Challenge
To illustrate the challenge of dealing with a complex health issue, the following describes a few of the complexities being experienced by our members:
- Immune dysregulation – the immune system not working properly
- Physical exhaustion
- Inflammation
- Cardiovascular problems
- Micro blood clotting
- Bowel bacteria (microbiome) disruption
- Mitochondrial dysfunction
- Sleep disorders (insomnia)
- Stuttering
- Memory loss
- Mental fog
- Stress
- Breathing difficulties
- Numbness and weakness
- Food intolerances
- Extreme sensitivity to pain
- Swollen lymph nodes
- Loss of sensations
- Racing heart
- Tinnitus – ringing in the ears
- Head and eye pain
- Loss of sensation in legs
An extremely unusual set of health issues can appear after receiving a COVID-19 vaccination or after contracting COVID-19. This gives reason to approach solutions with humility and great concern: humility that there is much that we have yet to discover, and great concern that intense effort is required to effectively address and figure out these challenges in a manner that respects the disruption it is causing to peoples’ lives.
Diagnosing the health challenge is not simple. While these symptoms appear to have a common cause, they also encompass unique factors contributing to different symptoms in individuals. Treatment must search to understand common causes while also respecting unique reactions of each member.
Treatment must focus on relief of immediate symptoms as well as seek to identify and address the root causes of the health issue. This requires an ongoing development of a growing body of knowledge. At the root cause level, it seems that many symptoms may be caused by toxic spike proteins, an immune system that is out of balance, and/or reactions to other elements provided through recent treatments. Sometimes, the best we can do is attempt to relieve the symptoms while also building up the body’s immune system so that it has the best chance of healing. As we know more, we will be able to do more.
Our approach to treatment research is needed for all health challenges where solutions are not yet fully developed. To address these issues, our research team embodies a broad range of health treatment capabilities.
The Range of Networked Expertise Supporting Our Approach
At CC TeleHealth, our approach to building and refining our treatment practices is achieved by actively and continuously participating in a global network of treating Health Care Professionals (several hundred), and utilizing our own research team, to adopt strategies that seem to be working elsewhere. CC TeleHealth’s research teams often includes many of the following disciplines:
- Medical Doctors
- Nurse Practitioners
- Registered Nurses
- Pharmacists
- Physiotherapists
- Occupational Health Therapists
- Naturopaths
- Homeopaths
- Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners
- Acupuncturists
- Nutritionists
- Psychologists
- Counsellors
Limitations of TeleHealth-Based Services
While we endeavour to utilize a broad range of research to bring quality services to our members, we also realize that because we are a telehealth service, there are limitations to what we can do, and some members will need face-to-face support so that broader treatment options can be provided for their health challenges. Some members may be beyond the treatment capabilities of a telehealth service. If this is the case, we will inform members of our limitations and encourage them to find solutions elsewhere, providing referrals where possible.
The Challenge of Treating Emerging Complex Health Challenges: The Need for Continuous Learning
Because international medical scientists and professionals are actively learning about the challenges and potential solutions for emerging health challenges, CC TeleHealth constantly tracks new discoveries through its network of researchers. When we experience a health challenge that is difficult to resolve, we make enquiries within our network to locate others who may have encountered a similar health challenge. Because some of the health issues we address are yet to be formally recognized as a “health condition” (with no mainstream medical treatment guidelines), we believe gathering research through our network is one of the better ways to find possible solutions.
Traditionally, health treatments are provided based on years of clinical research and development, which has proven to be effective across thousands of members with similar conditions. This is not an option for newly encountered health concerns, as the clinical research and treatment history have yet to be developed. A connected community of live treating professionals is an ideal source of knowledge for finding solutions to health challenges where no clear answers yet exist.
For COVID-19, Long COVID, and post vaccine injuries, many factors have clouded consensus of what works best. We find the views of the active treating community is often at odds with mainstream thinking. We at CC TeleHealth navigate this divide by acting under the strong medical bioethics mandate of: “
above all, do no harm” and develop practices by treating members. As solutions are affirmed within a community of active treating health care professionals, with direct hands-on treating experience, the path forward becomes clear long before it is known as a globally accepted medical practice.
An Alternate Approach Grounded in Historical Medical Science
In summary, CC TeleHealth’s treatment practices are driven by an evidence-based approach. That means we use scientific research, medical data, and clinical observations to shape our conclusions and member recommendations. That also means our thinking and protocols can change as new information and data emerges. We are guided by a scientific process that is rigorous and highly collaborative.
We ground our treatments in known mechanisms of action and protocols understood by trusted doctors and scientists for decades. This knowledge is then fine-tuned to address the symptoms that members are experiencing. For example, if a member is experiencing issues with blood clots, we utilize those medications/treatments that are known to be effective for managing clotting issues. Why blood clotting occurs so prevalently these days is yet to be fully understood. CC TeleHealth practitioners pool their experience and treatment knowledge to identify and better understand and address the root cause, not just the symptoms.
In this sense, CC TeleHealth is pioneering new approaches to treatment, even though the drugs used are already known to address blood clotting issues (i.e., we are learning which anti-clotting drugs work best with blood clotting due to recent events).
For example, when the immune system imbalance is repaired, often there is a reduction in a broad range of other symptoms (including neurological). This research-based approach is applied to all health concerns addressed by CC TeleHealth.
Based on this immune dysfunction discovery, while neurological problems will be addressed through known neurological treatments, immune system rebalancing can also be used to reduce neurological symptoms.
OFF LABEL DRUGS: Our approach for treatment is generally provided with a combination of treatments, some of which are ‘off-label drug use’ (OLDU) treatments. All our medications are approved for use as prescription drugs. It is an understood and accepted practice for Health Care Practitioners to prescribe off-label medications as research and clinical experience evolves (as we discover other areas where the drugs can be effective). Physicians or Nurse Practitioners will prescribe the medications most appropriate for each member based on assessment and where the research evidence supports the medication’s use.
Why Integrated Treatment Matters
Another dimension of our approach is to support members with integrated treatment utilizing the blended capabilities of multiple professional treatment disciplines (MDs, Psychiatrists, Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners, Naturopaths, etc.). Our approach to care is one where we seek to blend various health care treatment capabilities to achieve a holistic model of treatment. We strongly emphasize using well-qualified, certified professionals in our treatment practice. We also try to provide what many call the “wisdom of the crowd,” where expertise is combined through an effective collaboration process to achieve superior results.
You may only talk to one or two health care practitioners during your treatment, but the wisdom brought to you is coming from a community of practitioners and clinical researchers who are doing the hard work of developing better approaches as our experience expands. With integrated treatment, we believe that sometimes we can achieve outcomes that are otherwise not possible.
The Role of Individual Health Ownership
The effectiveness of all treatment practices is shaped by the member’s understanding of their role and their active engagement in their own healing process. The member controls many activities that powerfully affect the healing process. Some of these include:
- Sleep;
- Nutrition;
- Identification of signs and symptoms;
- Tracking of signs and symptoms;
- How you handle stress and fear;
- Your proactive interaction with Health Care Practitioners;
- Connections and community support;
- Building your support community through the receiving and giving of encouragement.
For some of our treatment practices we use discussion/community groups where discussions focus on how to be strong and effective in contributing to your own healing. This approach enables and you and your health team to share responsibility in ensuring results are achieved. Individual 1:1 counselling may also be recommended. The member’s role includes such things as:
- Clearly communicating with your support team;
- Being curious and open to new ideas;
- Understanding that your well-being may depend on making lifestyle changes to complement the treatments provided by your team.
For some life practices, only you can take the actions that will make the difference in your health.
Final Remarks: Restoring Hope for the Future
Many have lost hope in the current medical system to provide good science for treating complex emerging health challenges. Growing numbers have been disappointed with their experiences and lost trust in the ability of the existing medical system to address their concerns. Trust is the backbone of good health care. When trust is lost, an alternate path to rebuilding trust is needed. CC TeleHealth is seeking to be a beacon of hope for what the future of health care can be – a community of caring, trusted, well-informed professionals as a source of well vetted knowledge to support critical health concerns.
